On Target with Robin Hood

We would like to highlight a very important and amazing Association that operates out to Sherwood Park - the Robin Hood Association.  Robin Hood Association (RHA) is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing high-quality and innovative services to children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Their services are focused on children and adults with developmental disabilities in Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, and surrounding areas serving approximately 350 adults and 350 children and their families.

And check this out!!  “Our [Robin Hood] services are delivered by a committed team of over 600 full- and part-time staff. Their compassion, dedication, and genuine care for the people we support is our organization's life force.”  That is incredible!

Jason O’Donnell, the Owner of Infinite Eye Photography, has known of RHA since he was a kid growing up in Sherwood Park.  “Back then, I knew them as Robin Hood School.  I was blown away to learn that they have been in operation since 1963!  They are celebrating 60 of service to the Community!!  Amazing!  Having family, friends and clients with development disabilities I know how important the work they are doing is, not only for those individuals, but for the community as a whole.”

There is an event called the Damon Bunting Charity Classic Golf Tournament.  It was hosted at The Broadmoor Golf Course in Sherwood Park on August 24th, 2023 with the funds raised supporting the continued efforts and important work of the Robin Hood Association.   Jason was invited to join one of the foursomes for the Tournament but a Tournament supporter Dan Bowie, Owner of Ignite Heating.  We asked Jason about the afternoon and he said “It was nice to see some familiar faces of clients we have worked with or people I know from being in Sherwood Park for so many years. It’s great seeing so many supporting an amazing organization that has been important to me for so many years.”

Ann Marie LePan, CEO of the Robin Hood Association, spoke at the diner following the Tournament, speaking highly and appreciatively of the support from individuals, businesses and community groups that allow them to deliver the services to the people they serve.  She spoke most highly of Damon and his work put into the Tournament over the last 6 years.

Mr. Bunting pulled from his personal and professional connections (Damon Bunting Real Estate) to bring together an amazing night, with amazing people for amazing people.

“I had heard from many people how amazing Damon’s Tournament had been in the past and this year did not disappoint.” shared Jason “I quite enjoyed myself and would love to continue to support the event in some manner in the years to come.

“I think Damon summed it up nicely at the end of the night when he said ‘The impact that Robin Hood has on the developmental disability community AND the community as a whole is immeasurable.  They so do much good for so many people, it truly is amazing.’”

As of that night, the Damon Bunting Charity Classic Golf Tournament had raised over $100,000 dollars for the Robin Hood Association.

Well done, Damon!  Well done to all the supporters!

And a well done to the Robin Hood Association!!!  Thank you for all you do!
